New Year

January 1 | 1 of 365

I woke up in the rainy morning on the first day of 2017. New Year’s Eve happened without me even noticing it. I was so tired that I fell asleep just before the clock struck midnight. The thing is, last night was just like any other night. The universe didn’t came into a pause, no breathless silence for the passage of another twelve months.

So what is the point of New Year’s Eve and the beginning of a New Year?

I think we just make this day an excuse to set our resolutions we failed to accomplish last year (and the year before that), and I guess that’s okay. I realized that although this season is a good way to reflect on the year that had been. It’s also important to remember other things like forgiveness, second chances, and fresh starts. Because if there’s one thing that turns the world from a lonely place to a beautiful place is hope and love. Love on many of its forms.

So, let us start the New Year!
